THIS WEEKEND
Friday: MidTown is a rather new place in Pietermaai, fridays it hosts live salsa music (and then Pietermaai also has Mundo Bizarro and Mr. Porter), at Landhuis Bloemhof Twilight Zone brings back some rock nostalgia with the band "Twilight Zone". An yes, there is always Happy Hour at Mambo, Chill/Rileks/Bonita/Madero (they have a poolparty!)/Wet&Wild, just pick one.
Saturday: Ok, the Monthly Calabash market in the morning. In the afternoon it's Farley with Reggae Legends at Zanzibar, Monthly Hiphop night at Grand Cafe Mahaai and Groove Department (partyband from Holland) at De Buurvrouw, in Bandabou (KPasa Tip). Artlovers: Checkout the exposition openings night at Gallery Alma Blou.
Sunday: Early in the morning the monthly market at Hofi Moringa, Nightclub Excusa has a Matinee Latino, thats dancing early in the day, Then there is The Secret hosting a Noche Kultural - Wapa'in. In for a boozy sunset, checkout Solset, a Sol beer sponsored DJ night at St. Tropez.
Dining tips: We noticed that Angus Steakhouse (Caracasbaaiweg) introduced all-you-can-eat Sushi. Then there is the peculiar case of Asparagus, is it a veg?, well whatever it is, the season has started and Landhuis Daniel is flying them in.
Just in: Mistral (Gomezplein, Punda) just rebranded itself to GomezPlein City Bar, and kicking of with Douwe Bob on stage on March 31. We suspect this place to get the Robbie/Bar27 flavor, so we expect hopi veel live music. Good luck boys!
